Ramesh Balakrishna Pillay is American and lives in New York. He speaks English and Malayalam and studied initially at Tufts University (Medford MA) where he graduated with a BA in English Literature in 2000. He completed an MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia University, New York, in 2007, and as of 2012 was currently working as a lecturer in the English department at Niagara University (Niagara Falls, NY). While at UEA he used his time to work on a novel told from the first-person perspective of an unnamed, elderly Singapore Indian who dreams of one day becoming a famous Bollywood actor.
