Burmese-American author Wendy Law-Yone’s books (Golden Parasol: A Daughter’s Memoir of Burma; The Road to Wanting; Irrawaddy Tango; The Coffin Tree) have been translated into many languages and taught in literature, history and Asian Studies courses in universities throughout the United States and Europe.
In addition to the 2002 David T K Wong Fellowshp at UEA, awards for Wendy’s writing include a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Award for Creative Writing, and a Harvard Foundation Award for International Literary Arts and Intercultural Relations. Wendy has taught Southeast Asian Literature at SOAS, and at the University of Bern, as Friedrich Dürrenmatt Guest Professor of World Literature.
Now a permanent resident in the UK, Wendy lives in London.
