Biography

Included in the first Granta Best of Young British Novelists selection in 1983, Maggie Gee held the UEA Writing Fellowship in 1981-82. She was the first female Chair of the Royal Society of Literature.  Her seventh novel The White Family was shortlisted for the Orange Prize and the International Dublin Literary Award. She was awarded an OBE in 2012.
